Tonight is the Last Quarter Moon in Aquarius – conjunct the South Node and opposing the North Node.

Karma alert!

SOLAR ECLIPSES occur when the Moon covers the entire Sun (from our vantage point on Earth) so that all we see is a glow, or corona around the Sun. This looks like the royal Sun’s crown and brings up our kingly issues.

Tonight’s Last Quarter Moon activates this summer’s TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE on a personal level – as well as a collective level. If you are pulling back, clinging to your past, your social interactions can be strained as tensions mount and deception seems insurmountable. But it’s not mandatory.

Eclipses give us a choice – stay in the past, unconscious and safe in our egos – or enter a new dimension and (consciously) step into a new future. This LAST QUARTER MOON conjunct the South Node is a STRONG pull BACKWARD. Whatever unconscious issues have not been addressed in your life (we all have them!) can surface now. These are issues you can choose to work on this summer. It’s not required, but overlooking what comes up and giving your ego free reign to control you life can set you back, not only immediately, but karmically.

It’s not all that easy though. The Moon-square-Sun with the Nodes (the Sun makes a T-square to the Moon and Nodes) adds GREAT resistance to moving forward. This is a STRONG ego! Instead of moving forward, we look for ways to invalidate anyone who suggests anything but digging deeper into our current position. You can feel especially determined to do it your way, refusing to make any changes. This can mean missing out on the input of anyone or anything else.

But this is an Eclipse activation Quarter Moon and we may start to hear alarm clocks going off. It’s time to wake up. There are great opportunities to release old patterns, but we have to be willing to LOOK at ourselves, even when it’s not all pretty and we’re not thrilled with what we see. We may have to give up our belief that we alone can do it all, and allow our issues to be visible, shared, and healed.
