I haven’t been writing about the Moons besides Full and New, yet this one is too important to pass up. And too juicy!
The Quarter Moon is in Scorpio, ruled by Pluto.
Pluto is receiving a TRINE from Mercury in Virgo that will be exact on August 10.
Since Mercury will station Retrograde on August 30, this aspect will repeat on September 20 (while Mercury is still Retrograde but stationing Direct) and again a few days later, on September 23, once Mercury is Direct.
This is about POWER THINKING.
Mercury trine Pluto is not satisfied with superficial answers or explanations. It investigates. It probes. It delves below the surface appearances, unravels simplistic slogans. It doesn’t need to hide information. Mercury in Virgo is not self-interested or based on emotions, even if the Leo Sun would rather you see the show and applaud – which many people will.
This combination – in close aspect to the First Quarter Moon – is influential. It wants you to think – more deeply. And it will ask us all to think again, and again, as Mercury stations Retrograde for most of September, and repeats this trine again, and again.
Preserving the world (Virgo is an EARTH sign!) can be top priority now.
In Virgo, Mercury reminds us of the importance of world service.
Mercury rules Virgo. Mercury in Virgo. Virgo is an EARTH sign. In Virgo, Mercury is practical, realistic, ordered.
Our minds can be illuminated by the trine of Mercury to Pluto. We can ask some thought-provoking questions and look beyond the spectacle.
What is our greater responsibility – to the planet, to each other, to the future.
As Jim Rutenberg reports in the NY Times (Business Day section) on August 8 in his provocative and informative article “Balance, Fairness, and a Proudly Provocative Presidential Candidate,”
“But journalism shouldn’t measure itself against any one campaign’s definition of fairness. It is journalism’s job to be true to the readers and viewers, and true to the facts, in a way that will stand up to history’s judgment. To do anything less would be untenable.”
We are all watching. And thinking….
We need to dig even deeper. Superficial answer and slinging slogans are NOT going to give us the information we need right now.
How do we dig and gain access to crucial information?
By taking responsibility – a big theme of Capricorn and its ruler Saturn (Pluto is in Capricorn). It is only when we take responsibility for the information we access that we shine the light past the slogans and find the kernels of truth.
When we simplify and blame, the real problem is – we miss the important information – the stuff that could actually make a difference, be a solution, help us figure out something important. Mercury trines Pluto – our minds are EMPOWERED and EMPOWERING.
Mercury is in Virgo for an extended stay – the Devil is in the details, and it’s our job to look like hell to find them.
