New Moon in Virgo
The Virgo New Moon begins the cycle of Virgo, when the lessons of assimilation and integration gain prominence. It's harvest season, time to be discerning -- keep what you can use and discard what you cannot. Virgo represents the digestive process both physically and spiritually. This is the time of year to assimilate not only food, but ideas and emotions. It's time to balance your physical discipline with spiritual practice to achieve inner health and harmony. This phase can ask you to take more responsibility for your health, behavior, and daily routines. It can ask each of us to take a closer look at what we put in our bodies & minds and how efficiently and practically we use available energy and information. Clearing and cleaning the physical environment will make room for more spiritual growth and a new phase of personal evolution.

The Astrological Moon
The Moon rules desire as opposed to ego, need as opposed to expediency or reason. It describes how you feel about yourself, how you handle relationships, and how you emotionally respond to situations and experiences. It describes the flow of your daily functions; physical, emotional, and mental. The Moon represents your residence and domestic environment. It rules babies and young children, your mother and other important females in your life. The Moon is the astrological ruler of Cancer.

**New Moon phase**
The Moon conjuncts the Sun

The New Moon occurs when the Moon and the Sun are in the same place in the sky or exactly conjunct in the same sign. During the New Moon phase, the power and illumination of the Sun literally makes the Moon invisible to our sight, and the Moon's gravitational pull on the Earth is at its strongest. The New Moon is the seed time when primal Earth energy is released and we are all infused with a new vitality. A seed is planted in the Earth without light so that all its essence and potential becomes ready to freely, and without thinking, grow to be itself. Without analysis, let yourself grow upward. This is a natural time to start new cycles and undertake new challenges.
