Uranus in Pisces

Out of a black sky with dense clouds and fog too heavy to see a foot ahead, comes a bolt of lightning that illuminates the sky and shows the path ahead. Uranus has entered Pisces.

Until 1781, only the visible planets-- Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn -- were known on Earth. Uranus was discovered in 1781, and was in Pisces from 1752-1760, another era that also saw Pluto in Sagittarius, although no one knew that at the time, as Pluto was discovered in 1930. (Neptune was discovered in 1840). Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto cannot be seen by the naked human eye on Earth and are called the Outer Planets.

When Outer Planets change signs, it signifies a major change in culture, governments, progress, and life on the planet itself. Artcharts, and many online sites, began when and because Uranus entered Aquarius in early 1997.

As Uranus travels through the signs, it puts the floodlights on the sign it transits, creating more publicity and excitement around everything the sign represents. In Aquarius, ruling position for Uranus and therefore its homebase and strongest position, the buzz was the coming of the Internet age and all things i. Dolly the cloned sheep was born, websites launched, and the entire internet community burgeoned into a mega growth industry that got so big so fast, the bubble burst in 1999. In Pisces, the second sign for Uranus, the internet becomes a part, or the main part, of the economy. It also means the internet will become home for large corporations who will be able to afford the continually mounting fees for internet business. Independent internet sites will be replaced by organizations with larger resources and reach.

Uranus is a magnet. People with strong Uranus placements are people or publicity magnets. Uranus is the best Public Relations agent you can hire and when Uranus makes certain contacts to your chart, you can suddenly become famous, infamous, and/or undeniably attractive, although not necessarily rich. Your glow is unmistakable and everyone wants to bask in it. And you don't have to be a celebrity for this to happen, you can find yourself the center of any circle or group, even your own family.

Uranus in Pisces is interesting for yet another reason-- Uranus and Neptune are now in Mutual Reception, which increases the good potentials for both Uranus and Neptune. Mutual Reception exists when 2 planets are in each others' rulership sign. Uranus rules Aquarius and Neptune rules Pisces and right now Uranus is in Pisces and Neptune is in Aquarius--- they are in each others' sign of rulership. This is mutual reception. But it is an uncertain mutual reception for this reason: Uranus and Neptune are "new" planets, discovered since the laws for mutual reception were created by ancient astrologers which was based on the 7 visible planets. Classically, Saturn rules Aquarius and Jupiter rules Pisces. So we are going to see just how helpful Mutual Reception will be in this new era.

Neptune rules the feet (through its affinity with Pisces), and new designs and innovations in footwear are more than likely over the next 7 years. Interesting, it has just come to light that George W. Bush and Saddam Hussein wear shoes by the same Italian shoe designer! Leave it to Pisces to find the bottom line common denominator.

When Uranus is in Pisces, you might as well forget everything you know because it's likely to change, dissolve, disappear, and morph into something very different.

Pisces, the long-suffering sign of slavery and sacrifice, may just refuse to be a doormat-- at least for the next 7 years. This is a rebellion of Pisces. The age of the willing fish is ending. Though you take them for granted now, Pisces just may not just be there for you to trash, slash, or underate. No, they won't because they will be too busy being fabulous, fantastic, and photographed. WHY? Because Pisces are psychic and anyone who has taken the time to honor, establish, and work on their connection to spirit, can suddenly find themselves very much in demand. People just have to get closer to their sensitivity, compassion, and natural spiritual/psychic connection. Pisces is symbolic of infinity, of mysteries that cannot be fully known but must be explored, and of psychic ability due to the open channel to other realms. Uranus in Pisces will also create more unexpected unpredictable psychic disturbances that will need skilled practitioners to deal with effectively. And of course, Pisces are the likely candidates for this kind of work because they are naturally attuned to psychic vibrations. Psychic protection and psychic safety can become a major growth industry over the next 7 years, as will aura readers, channels, and spiritual leaders. In the rush to believe, we can also be tricked by those with the right image, but who lack a true connection to spirit.

The purpose of all the spiritual activity is to create healthy boundaries while dissolving old belief systems. We will all need to learn or practice psychic protection not only in meditation and in "other realms" but in the real world, every day, at work, at the store, driving, being with our children, our animals, and in everything we do, we will need to be aware of our boundaries and the boundaries of others, as we are drawn to more group activities and social interaction. The last time Uranus was in Pisces was from 1919 to 1928, the end of WWI, age of the Roaring Twenties, and the time of prohibition, perhaps the most interesting twist, as Uranus, planet of freedom, was in Pisces, planet of drink and addiction. Prohibition did stop a rising tide of drunken behavior, but also gave rise to gangsters, mobsters, and organized crime.

Music will continue to be more widely created and distributed, with less emphasis on stars. If the music industry wonders what happened to their sales, they need to look no further than their need to sell image and looks before music and talent. When Uranus is in make-the-small-big-and-famous Pisces, anyone can become an overnight star.

The group mind, symbolized by Uranus, has entered Pisces. Will the group decide on repression of all things Pisces and declare war on poverty, drugs, and all addictions (before passing superior judgment, keep in mind there are many forms of addiction) or will the group decide to evolve to a higher spiritual awareness. Both are possible and more likely now, and the direction we chose and follow remains our own free will.

Some Piscean themes are approved by the mainstream culture, and some are not. But this is an illusion that gets confusing. We are making distinctions in the ocean that keeps mixing things up and diluting the impact. We thirst for oil, take more prescription drugs, and support Hollywood stars like royalty with awards and big bucks. And we simultaneously declare war on poverty, homelessness, peace (now considered treason by some), non-prescription drugs of every variety including cigarettes and alcohol, along with whales, dolphins and the ocean in general. Pisces can compete with Uranus for more group approval needs, limiting the influence of independent, experimental artists, actors, politicians, writers, scientists, and original thinkers, along with anyone who is not ruthlessly aggressive in their pursuit of a career. The increasingly under-support can result in art, movies, fashion, music, media, etc, etc, that is made only by the most aggressive, pushy, and prettiest people on the planet, a Darwinian culture of the toughest and the most marketable, leaving anyone else to the ranks of obscurity, talented though they may be and with a message that needs to be heard by the world. Will the bolts of Uranian lightning bring their messages and talents to the light of public awareness, or will the Pisces group mind be driven by need for approval and dependency. In the age of electronic media and appropriation it is not likely this will change until Pisces finds an effective marketing strategy to commercialize their talents and messages.

Social trends change as outer planets change, and as Uranus entered Pisces the movie "CHICAGO" won all industry awards. Why? Because it speaks to us from the last time Uranus was in Pisces, the Roaring Twenties. This is why the show was a hit, and the movie has the timing of Uranus in Pisces, making it a mega success for all involved, including the audiences. We can expect more air dancing, flying shoes. Computer art will come of age as optics replaces image, and images created in the computer will be just as real as anything physical, as our boundaries of what is physical stretch and change.
