The Lunar Nodes transit retrograde, or move backwards, through the zodiac. They spend approximately a year and a half in each sign, completing an entire orbit in about 18 years.

Since the North Node is an excellent business / social trend indicator, it is very helpful to understand its movements through the signs. In active Aries, the Lunar Nodes encourage pioneering activity, a change from the slow, steady pace of accumulation that happens while the North Node is in possessive Taurus. This can indicate the end of the housing boom as Taurus LOVES to build ornate and expensive homes, driving the price of housing UP. This spells the end of LOW interest loans and also the end of skyrocketing housing prices in urban areas.

The North Node in Aries is likely to increase military spending, do-it-yourself projects, anything that helps you do things faster, and anything that helps impulses become real. If you have to wait for anything, you can become SO outrageously FRUSTRATED that you take immediate ACTION! And go even faster!! Even if that means jumping to conclusions. And you can give yourself permission to jump off the deep end at ANYONE who DARES to make a MISTAKE! Also expect an increase in heart attacks and other medical emergencies as tempers heat above safe levels.

We will continue to spend money on our homes, but not to glorify, to do normal maintenance-- ourselves. Instead of calling the plumber, you will go to Home Depot, buy the supplies, and do it yourself. You are also likely to see more cars speeding on the road, a dramatic increase speeding tickets and accidents, more people taking bigger risks and acting out their agenda with violence and hostility, resulting in the more confrontations, more fighting that goes from verbal to physical, and the need for a involved more police force. Expect to encounter louder and nastier people, more self-righteous behavior, and less concern for fellow human beings.

We are likely to hear everyone telling us to "buck up" "take it like a man" and "be strong". What they DON'T want to hear are your sob stories or anything emotional that reminds them of their essential vulnerability. DON'T EXPECT PITY! But do expect to hear: Hang tough. Be brave.

While the North Node is in Aries, knowing yourself is the only way to become a more active, involved, and cooperative participant in any relationship. And how can you be yourself if you refuse to learn about your personality. You can't. Step 1. Learn all about who you really are. The more naive you are, the more you will be blame others for your situation. You also leave yourself open to be preyed upon by relentless marketers.

The North Node in Aries brings out everyone's independent streak and can make many of us adamant about getting our needs met IMMEDIATELY if not sooner!!!! Especially if we KNOW we are RIGHT. Then, we may feel fully justified to use our indignation to display our strength and prove that we can overpower anyone less-competent. You may justify whatever force is necessary to make sure these inferior beings are defeated and pushed back. Yet, rid of the irritants and all by your righteous self, you may find you continue to justify greater degrees of anger and indignation and are only getting more irritated more easily by everything. Suddenly, everyone is a competitor, every situation a potential source of confrontation--- and you are fighting the world.

The North Node in Aries is time to get in touch with your ANGER!!! While the North Node is in Aries, the need for anger management and defensive driving can become a high priority. If righteous anger is validated and translated into MOTIVATION, you can focus your energy, avoid taking things personally and becoming defensive, and accomplish miracles. It may take until the North Node is partly through Aries, but the South Node in Libra will begin to influence the Aries North Node, reminding us of the importance of cooperation, relationships, and art to keep life balanced and our values human. If you get everything you want and succeed in forcing everyone to fulfill your agenda at your pace, at the end of the day you may find you are a lonely, scared, paranoid, person who needs to find a more positive and harmonious way of connecting with others.

The lesson and benefit of the Lunar North Node in Aries is to lose some of our naivete. To grow up and not explode when we hear something that does not agree with previous information so that we can stand up for ourselves and be strong and independent--- without losing our temper and thereby our energy. As we begin to have more tolerance for ourselves, we can tolerate others without becoming irritated, competitive, or over-reacting. And as we come to understand our personalities, we can become strong in ourselves as we assert our individuality AND cooperate with others.

Sometimes, righteous anger can spur us to righteous action. Sometimes you have to take a stand and defend your position. Sometimes you have to be strong. Sometimes you have to BE AN ACTIVIST and march! But if you hate just because you believe you are right, you wind up focusing all your energy on your hatred, leaving nothing else but your hatred..... no wisdom, no peace, no rest. Maybe it's time for a new look at hate. Maybe it's time to take some responsibility for our feelings so we can act on our impulses and start to trust ourselves.

Expect to see more activists becoming a lot more active while the North Node is in Aries.
