Jupiter opposes Pluto
How powerful are you? The will to power is undeniable now as your ego seeks to expand your powerbase; and although being responsible for the power you wield can add to your evolutionary growth, it's likely that the thrill of ultimate power can overwhelm, dazzle, and become an end in itself. Meeting the world, or any relationship, halfway is harder when the will to power is extreme enough to use any taboo tactics, including manipulation, underhanded power struggles, and abuse, to control all situations and get your way. Your strategies can be effective and your negotiations can succeed, if you believe in the philosophy you preach while respecting the power of others.

Jupiter opposed Pluto in September 2000 and this opposition occur again in 2014, putting larger-than-life political issues on a very personal level. How is this affecting you? How do you use your power, what are you real intentions and how dependent is your identity on the power you wield, the control you exert, the philosophy you teach. And most of all, how well can you negotiate and balance your will with the needs of other people or a whole group of people? How aware of others are you? This is the time to become more conscious of power issues, to observe yourself and how you plan to get your needs met; how you're coerced and how you manipulate, how power works for you and against you. Letting go of anything no longer serves the purpose of your spiritual growth will either happen willingly now, or it will just happen; oppositions signal separations. If you're too obsessed with the outer appearance of your power and the reach of your riches, you may start to realize that it's no longer serving your best interests and that life has to change to reflect what you really believe in and what furthers your growth, both personally and globally.

Since Jupiter and Pluto both represent global and political affairs -- the things that happen beyond the purely personal -- this is a time when the opposition between countries can be more pronounced. Who makes the rules? What is protocol? What is polite and what is obsessive politics?
Astrological Jupiter
Jupiter rules your potential for growth and expansion on many levels; physical, intellectual, spiritual, cultural, and the accumulation of material assets, power, and status. It describes your optimism and aspirations. It represents your father and his position in society. Jupiter is the astrological ruler of Sagittarius and the ancient ruler of Pisces.
