Help using your artcharts.com reports

Your artcharts reports are delivered on the internet using one of two file formats -- HTML or PDF -- which you can choose during the checkout process. After you place your order, you will receive an email with a link to your report. You have 6 months to download your report onto your computer. It is yours and you can keep it on your computer and/or print it.

We only send Astrolabe Reports via USPS Priority Mail - which takes 2-3 days.

If you can see the internet, you can access HTML files. If you are having difficulty with your file, please email [email protected]. To help you better and faster, please tell us your computer operating system (Windows XP, 2000, MacOSX, etc.) and your email software (Eudora, Outlook Express, etc.) and we will make sure you get your report open.

Delivery method: your artcharts reports are delivered on the internet. After you place your order, you will receive an email thanking you for your order. When your order is ready, you will receive another email with a link to your report(s). (this is fast but not always instant because orders are filled by a human:) All your reports will be accessible from your email. Since your report files will only be online for 3 months, we recommend you do one or both of the following: print out your reports, and/or save your reports to your local computer hard drive. Everyone knows how to print, so below you'll find instructions on how to save your reports to your computer. It is the same procedure as saving any web page, so if you already know how to do that you're good to go. If not, here are instructions for both Windows PC and Mac users.

Windows PC
First, make a folder on your desktop (or wherever you'd like) and name it something descriptive, so you'll know what and where it is in the future. You're going to save your reports in this folder. Next, open the main page for your reports. A link to this page will be included in the email you receive after you placed your order. From here, the instructions are slightly different whether you use Internet Explorer or Netscape as your web browser.

Internet Explorer for Windows
In Internet Explorer, simply choose "Save As..." from the "File" menu. Save as type "Web Page complete", and save the file into the folder you already created in the first step above. Then, still on the main report page, click the first link on the page to load another report. Again, choose "Save As..." and save as "Web Page complete" into the same folder. Do this for all your reports and you will have a folder containing all the reports and images included in your order.

Netscape Communicator for Windows
If you use Netscape, there is one caveat to this procedure. Netscape won't automatically download images for you. The main page of your reports will usually have chart images on it and some of the report pages also contain decorative images at the top. To maintain these images on the pages, you must perform one extra step to download web pages with Netscape. Load the main page of your reports, and from the "File" menu choose "Edit File". This will open the page in another window which looks a little different from the main one. It's actually Netscape Composer, which allows you to edit web pages. From here, choose "Save As..." from the "File" menu and save it in the folder you created above. This will save the web page and the pictures it contains. After saving, close the Netscape Composer window. Now, click a link to load another one of your reports and follow the same procedure. First, choose "Edit File" from the "File" menu. A new window opens, and from there choose "Save As..." from the "File" menu. After saving, close the Composer window and repeat the procedure until you have all your reports downloaded.*

Mac
First, make a folder on your desktop (or wherever you'd like) and name it something descriptive, so you'll know what and where it is in the future. You're going to save your reports in this folder.

Next, open the main page for your reports. A link to this page will be included in the email you receive after you placed your order. From here, the instructions are slightly different whether you use Internet Explorer or Netscape as your web browser.

Internet Explorer for the Mac
In Internet Explorer, simply choose "Save As..." from the "File" menu. You'll see at the bottom of the dialog box it says "Web Archive" with an Options button-click the options button. Tell it to download images and download links, one level deep. Save the file in the folder you created above. This will save a file containing all the images and reports in your entire order-all in one Web Archive file. When you open it, it will look just like you're online, and the links will even work, but they are locally working off your hard drive. If you'd rather download one page at a time, (if you connect over a slow dialup/modem, for example) do the same thing but in the Web Archive options just tell it to download images, not links. Do this for all your reports, and save them all in the folder you created above so they'll be easy to find in the future.

Netscape Communicator for the Mac (OS 9 or earlier)
If you use Netscape as your browser, the above procedure will be a little different. Netscape won't automatically download the images from your reports, so we'll do one extra step. First, open the main page for your reports. A link to this page will be included in the email you receive after you placed your order. From the "File" menu choose "Edit File".

If you are still having trouble saving your report, please email:
[email protected]

Thanks again for your order!

*Bear in mind, that the added step to download images in Netscape is only required if you want the image links to be maintained from within the page after you've downloaded. If you only want the text of your reports to be downloaded, just choose "Save As..." from the Netscape file menu and save the format as "Source". When you open this file in your browser you'll see your report and an empty square where there were images.
