Solar Eclipse in Virgo: Embracing opposites

______________________________________________

The NEW MOON+SOLAR ECLIPSE is on September 11 @ 8:44 AM EDT in Virgo (at 18 Virgo 25)

There's a Solar Eclipse on Tuesday, September 11 at 8:44 am edt. Sounds like deja vu all over again. It's been obvious to me, although it has been rarely discussed until the recent fires, that besides the huge hole that was the WTC, there is a large building wrapped in black, which is the Deutsche Bank building. Yin and Yang. Our attention is being drawn back to the site by recent events because there is unfinished business.

The chart for the Solar Eclipse is nearly identical to the chart for the 1st strike on September 11, 2001. Without getting technical, there are many previous charts that are recalled by this Eclipse chart, including similarities with the US chart, the NYC chart, the recent pipe explosion near Grand Central Terminal. (i walked past that exact spot the day before!) This does not mean there will be another attack. It does show that we are wrapped up in disputes and resistance, and it is starting to show because it's time to take the next step forward.

This is a tense moment. Cracks in the infrastructure are starting to show. ANYTHING can happen, and just saying that can be taken as an insult to those who are responsible for maintaining security. Negotiations are stuck. Instead of understanding, our egos compete for power.

Standing on your own feet and being able to function independently is empowering, and necessary, especially right now.

Yet, if taken to extremes, you can become impatient and impulsively strike out to get your needs met instantly. If you don't think you can be independent in your current situation, you can make an impulsive break, cut old ties, set yourself free. And you may not consider the consequences, which can put you in a fast-paced dangerous situation.

We are in a period that will increasingly require a calm approach and respect for details and process. If you believe results without examining how they were obtained, or if you want results without doing the work, you may defend or act on a belief that has no basis in fact. What are the facts? Write them down, ask realistic questions, follow up by reading and studying.

The Solar Eclipse is in Virgo, is the sign of work and service. Service in the sense of giving effortlessly, enjoying what you give, not giving because you "should". Saturn recently entered Virgo emphasizing the need to work smart. We need to work in a way that enhances our self-respect, and provides for our physical needs. The bottom line IS a top priority. Which means you may need to change the way you work. It may not mean a complete shift, but you may need to be open to making adjustments, setting priorities on the parts of working that make money. It is not more spiritual to be broke. In fact, not having enough income can make it harder to educate yourself, improve your skills, and share something meaningful with the world.

This Partial Solar Eclipse in Virgo is part of a Mutable Grand Square. The Sun and Moon are closely opposing Uranus, square Mars, and square Jupiter. Mars is approaching opposition with Pluto. Mars and Jupiter are nearly out of bounds by declination (Mars and Jupiter are contraparallel; Mars goes beyond 23.6N, or out of bounds October 6, reaches a height of 26.9N in mid January as Pluto enters Capricorn, and continues to be out of bounds through April 25, 2008). Out of bound planets can act in extreme and unpredictable ways. Mars in Gemini can indicate the need to talk, gossip, and distract yourself with a constant flow of thoughts. In Gemini, Mars can put full energy into communicating, instead of fighting physically.

This is an impatient time, when it can be a challenge to finish anything. The focus is just not there. Flipping from one thing to the next, it can be hard to do anything effectively, despite good intentions.

How do we calm our minds so we can think and get our work done?

This Solar Eclipse opposing Uranus is a gateway to embrace opposites, love the one you hate, find a way to communicate. Resistance to that concept is still strong (square Mars and Jupiter-Pluto). Yet, if we cannot accept what makes us different and unique, we cannot form communities and we cannot share ideas.

This is a time when we can clearly see how we attract what we don't want by focusing on it.

We all have different sides within us. If you focus on what you don't like about someone, you are probably not trying understand their intentions or motivations. When we see things in others that we don't like, we think it's that "other person" who is wrong. Everything would be fine if we could just get rid of that person or that group. It's a strategy that requires constant attention on what you DON'T like to make sure it stays "out there". When we refuse to admit there are parts of ourselves that we don't like in others, they keep showing up. And we spend all our energy keeping them away.

The opening:
Mars is contraparallel Jupiter, which brings Jupiter right back into the Mutable Grand Square. Sun and Moon are quincunx Neptune, a new kind of stretch is needed. With a leap of faith, you can suddenly find the motivation and energy to push past previous comfort zones and trust your judgment to forge ahead into unknown territory. You can do things than make you look and feel younger. You can get inspired in ways that help you succeed by using your intuition, instead of trying too hard and spinning your wheels.

To get clear and calm your mind, you will have to give up the stories you make up to keep life exactly the same (Mars/Jupiter). Are you making up details that really didn't happen; are you changing a story to make a point? Are you projecting a worst-case scenario onto events that have never happened? If you can look honestly at how you exaggerate, you can start to release some of the fear or at least dissipate it and release its power. When you release tension, you participate in your own healing, arriving in the present time where there is no fear or self-doubt.

On a spiritual level, Virgo is the sign of ritual. If you want to make improvements in your life, the stellium of planets in Virgo remind us: you have to make a commitment and do something every day. You have to be consistent. The more you practice, the better you get. Taking it seriously is necessary. And earning money does count, because without funding you cannot "just keep doing it."

And of course, when you make a commitment or set an intention to follow a practice, everyday, things will come up that will make it hard to keep it going. It's hard to find the time. And just when you're in the routine and good things are starting to happen --- that's when something can come up to throw you off course, making it harder to maintain your healthy practices.

When you look OUTSIDE yourself to feel good about yourself, that gives yourself the message not to trust yourself. So you continue to look outside, and wonder why you never find "it." Even if we get the answer, we discount it, and keep looking because we are not really looking for an answer, we just want the problem solved.

When we're obsessed with how others react to us and what we have to offer, we give up our own personal power and deny others the gift of our talents. We think "we're not good enough", so we don't offer our services. It doesn't serve anyone to put yourself down and not use and improve your talents. Uranus in the Eclipse chart gives us a reason to focus: to share ideas on a larger social level; to update, illuminate, and quicken progress among your friends and networks; to make new friends and promote causes you believe are important for society; to inform and work towards your ideals. To make the world a better place.

SECTION 2. Using Astrology for Your Greatest Benefit
Virgo is connected to the 6th house in the chart. We all have a 6th house and we all have Virgo somewhere in our chart. To see how Virgo works in your chart, and how you work best in the world, look at your 6th house cusp. The sign on the cusp describes your ideal work situation. And the location of the sign's ruler tells you where and how you work best. The LifePath Report tells you where all the house rulers are in your chart, and what that means. For instance, if Cancer is on the cusp of your 6th house, your 6th house ruler is the Moon. And if the Moon is in your 4th house, that means your work (6th house) has a connection to the home or you may work in real estate, both 4th house influences.
