The Astrology of 2012: hit the ground running!

Astrology uses 'ingress' charts, also known as birth charts, to get insights into a moment, and thereby see current and future trends. Just like a birth chart, charts can be cast for the moment anything happens, or a thought occurs. You can cast a chart for anything in your life and get more insights into events and feelings, perhaps get creative solutions as you meditate on themes that are highlighted in the chart.

Looking at the chart for the first moment of 2012 -- January 1, 2012 @ 12:00:01 AM (cast in EST because that's where i live) -- anywhere on Earth -- 2012 is the year to hit the ground running! If magical answers are what you're looking for, you can veer off course, as Neptune in Pisces creates plenty of magic and illusion!

Uranus, now direct at 0 Aries, is moving forward. The approaching Uranus-Pluto square (active through March 2015) is highlighted and powered higher by the SUN in the 2012 chart. Perfect planet for hi-lights! There is a First Quarter Moon- dawning of realization- just after midnight, at 1:16 am EST-- AND a Mercury-Mars square at 1:06 am EST (both events are before midnight west of CST). This is a POWER year -- with a LOUD reality check!

Important ruling planets are Saturn (ruler of the Capricorn Sun) and Mars (ruler of the Aries Moon). Mars is exactly square Mercury for the 3rd and last time (due to the recent Mercury Rx station). As mentioned in earlier posts, there will be many HOT topics to debate in 2012. To the extent that you get defensive or invested in your ego, you may feel too rushed to be cooperative, and too stressed to care. (We all go there at times, the thing is to let it go asap!)

Mars also keeps prices low, and the square from Mercury can indicate competitive pricing that challenges businesses to turn a profit. Sales! Yeah!? You may think this is great, yet competitively lowering prices can be a difficult test for many businesses. And lead to more aggressive shopping.

Mercury-Mars square suggests you may want to fight for what you believe. Taking action is important, and it's also important to choose where, when, and how to act before making impulse moves that can be setbacks.

The Mercury-Mars square is in Sagittarius-Virgo. Listening to, BELIEVING in, digesting and assimilating the words of aggressive people, or just people with ego agendas, can block your own flow of energy and communication. Truth can be obfuscated by beliefs and agendas that communicate half-truths or made-up stories. Is it real if you believe it? -- for who?! Data can be used to fit an agenda-- even 2 conflicting opinions at once! If you want the real story, follow the ego trail... .

2012 starting with a Mercury-Mars square can feel like a speed bump! And that can be experienced as stress.

But what if that speed bump is a life-saving blessing?!!

Looking long-term, the Sun is conjunct Pluto and Sun-Pluto is receiving a square from the Moon in Aries (First Quarter Moon). Since the Moon will have just made a conjunction with Uranus (Dec 31 @ 6:27 am EST), New Year's Eve events can be a not-so-sneaky PREview of events that will continue to develop and become EARTH SHAKING over the next 4 years (the Uranus-Pluto square is active through March 2015). Hmmm... The era of BIG biz (Pluto) connected to government (Capricorn) continues, although it will be continually challenged by a large % of the population (square from Uranus through 2015) as more strive towards ethical wealth.

Uranus also rules awakening. And the internet. Astrological Uranus rules all forms of instant communication including broadcasting, TV, internet, and all hi-tech media. And now that hi tech is available to most of the population, the public has awakened! Awakening is another Uranus theme. And since Uranus also rules liberation, revolution, AND information, information is electrified, quickened, and sent around the world -- instantly. Virally.

There's always more. Neptune will enter Pisces on February 3 as we begin a magical mystical journey into the collective unconscious. So more to come...
